This is the finished dresser I was telling you about. I just love the final look.
Look what I found in an old barn! It really solid, no loose rungs or legs. But as you can see, the seat is shot. Cleaning, sanding, and a good coat of paint......white of course, will be a great start. The problem is, what to do with the seat.
I can't afford to have the caning redone. I'm thinking a board the size of the hole and little padding and upholstering it. Well, I'm off to paint again.

Hi Teresa,
Dresser looks great! And the chair was a great find. I'm sure it'll look stunning when you finish with it. Can't wait to see! Happy 1st day of autumn.

Love the dresser and I think your idea of upholstering the chair would work. Can't wait to see what ya come up with!

Thanks for following me and as soon as google gets its kinks out I'll follow you as well.
A couple of ideas on the chair-
1) My parents re-cained a bent wood rocker a long time ago, so it can be done as a DIY. I remember them buying the caining and reed and used a rubber mallet, they soaked the reed and cain in the tub so it would be stretched out some. As the cain dried it tightened up even more.
2) I also think it would be cute to take the caining out and use it as a planter. You can add some chicken wire or other options to place some moss in to keep dirt from falling out and plant things in it. You could change things out for each season.
